PHOENIX -

Deputies have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection to a bomb threat at the courthouse that was tweeted after the Jodi Arias verdict was announced.

It all started on Wednesday night after the Jodi Arias verdict was read. Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies say TV reporters noticed someone tweeted that he put improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the Superior Court room where the trial was held.

"We got information yesterday, last night, that a subject said he was going to bomb the court, kill the cops, it was going to be at 1:00 today," said Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Deputies were able to track the suspect through his Twitter and Facebook accounts. The trail led them to the Value Place Motel on Thursday, where Laquint Cherry was barricaded inside.

While he was holed up, a court document shows Cherry tweeted, "I'll never be arrested because the friends I have open cases with, the CIA, they know I'm the real deal. My Facebook would prove I don't joke."

Cherry allegedly refused to come out without a warrant, but eventually deputies were able to arrest him. Cherry's girlfriend, who was with him, was questioned and let go.

A bomb squad went through hotel and courthouse and came up with nothing.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says it seems it was all a hoax, but that his office takes every threat seriously.

According to documents, Cherry told authorities he was a member of the hacker group anonymous, but had quit.

Cherry faces charges of one count of knowingly giving a false impression.
