BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) -

An employee of Binder Park Zoo is recovering after she was injured on the job while working with a giraffe.

TV stations WOOD and WWMT report the woman was putting the giraffes indoors on Monday when she lost her footing and fell. Officials say the giraffe then stepped on the woman at the zoo in Calhoun County's Newton Township, near Battle Creek.

The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that weren't believed to be serious.

The zoo says it plans to review its procedures following the injury, but it appears the giraffe accidentally stepped on the woman.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
