Who writes a book telling readers to "punch fear in the face"? Jon Acuff, that's who. His new book is already number five on the New York Times best seller list. The author of "Start. Punch Fear in the face. Escape Average. Do Work That Matters." talked to Steve and Maria about ways to reinvent yourself and break out of a routine that is making you unhappy. Jon even gave us some simple tips on how to begin that process and told stories that relate to each...including something gross his young daughter did after leaving a pet store.

Tips to reinvent yourself:

  • Tip one: get social.
  • Tip two: make action payments.
  • Tip three. Punch fear in the face.
  • Tip four. Start before you're ready.
  • Tip five. Ignore the haters

Jon will be at the Barnes And Noble in Santa Monica, Monday afternoon to sign copies of his book.
