PEORIA, Ariz. -

Peoria Police say a 3-year-old boy was found wandering all by himself in a trailer park Friday afternoon.

About 3:30 p.m., Peoria Police received a call about a 3-year-old boy wandering around barefoot in the area of 79th and Peoria Aves.

Angela Fox was the person who called 911 to report the unattended child. She took care of him until officers arrived.

"Happy little guy, he couldn't talk, wearing a diaper, couldn't tell us his name or where he was from, he was just lost. Sad to see that nobody's come forward and nobody's missing him," says Fox.

He was checked out and is OK, and placed in CPS custody.

Meanwhile, officers went door to door to try to see if anyone claimed him or recognized him.

The boy has blue eyes, blonde hair, and was wearing a red shirt and red pants.

Update: After seeing our report on the news, the parents of the boy came forward. The father had been asleep and the mother had just arrived home from work.

Police arrived on the scene to interview the parents. We're told the child will remain in CPS custody overnight while it is determined if the home is a safe place for the little boy.
