Smyrna neighborhood evacuated, bomb squad called to home

SMYRNA, Ga. -

A bomb squad was called to the scene of a home in Smyrna on Monday night.

FOX 5 has confirmed neighbors were evacuated out of the Paces Ferry Park neighborhood while crews worked to contain a possible explosive device in a safe inside a home.

The possible explosive device was removed late Monday and the bomb squad blew up the device. Soon after, people were allowed to return to their homes, according to authorities.

It's still not clear what the device was.
