Do you have what it takes to go to Mars?

ATLANTA -

Now's your chance to book a first class ticket to Mars! A company called Mars One has announced an open call for anyone who wants to fly to and live on the Red Planet.

The group says anyone can apply, but there's a catch. It's a one-way ticket only because there's no technology that would allow a return trip to earth. The group plans on selecting 24 to 40 candidates. The group's medical officer says they are looking for five qualities in the applicants: resilience, adaptability, curiosity, empathy, and creativity.

The plan is to send the astronauts in groups of four, and land the first four people on Mars by 2023. The goal is to establish a permanent human colony on the planet.

There is an application fee, and applicants must submit a 30 to 70 second video explaining why they want to go to Mars and why they are the best candidate.
