FOX 10's Cory McCloskey previews a valley BBQ festival that's offering finger-licking good food and redneck-inspired competitions on Saturday.
The 4th Annual Arizona BBQ Festival is bringing redneck sophistication to Salt River Fields.
After indulging on plates of BBQ, attendees can enter watermelon seed spitting, arm wrestling and hubcap hurling contests and play horseshoe games with toilet seats.
Winners will literally become "red necks" when they're awarded medals strung on red ribbon. The attendee with the most medals will win a new $1,000 smoker from Green Mountain Grills.
They'll also have BBQ cooking classes every hour, featuring chef Lee Hillson (The Phoenician), Gavino Borquez (Top of the Rock) and Craig Driml (Uncle Bears Restaurant).
