Phoenix Police bust drug lab

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

Phoenix Police say they've found a drug lab at an office and storage area near 7th Street and Dunlap.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson says the person who lives at the building had friends staying with him. When he came home late Thursday night, he found chemicals that he thought were used to make illegal drugs.

Once authorities get a search warrant, they'll gather evidence and analyze what the chemicals are.

Thompson says it appears the chemicals found are used to make meth, but that it's a relatively small drug lab.

There is no danger of explosion.

Side streets will be closed during the investigation, but no major roads will be impacted.

Thompson says he believes the suspects had fled before officers arrived.
