By MYFOXATLANTA STAFF
LAMAR COUNTY, Ga. -
The Lamar County Sheriff's Office and the Barnesville Police Department say they have installed permanent drop boxes for unused or expired prescription medicine and over-the-counter medications.
They say the drop boxes will allow residents to safely and anonymously get rid of the medications that could be abused.
There will be a drop box located at the Lamar County Sheriff's Office inside the lobby area, and is accessible seven days a week, 24 hours a day. In Barnesville, the drop box is located at the Barnesville Police Department inside the front lobby area, and is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Lamar County Sheriff's Office will be glad to answer any questions on the program. You can call them at 770-358-5159, ext. 269 or 706-975-5809.
