CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are looking for a group of men who tried to lure a young teen toward their car Sunday in the South Lawndale neighborhood.

The 13-year-old girl was walking to a store in the 2400 block of South Springfield Avenue when four Hispanic men inside a parked car began whistling and honking at her about 3 p.m. Sunday, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.

The girl went to the store and the men again tried to get her attention when she came out, police said. One of the men then gestured for the girl to come to the vehicle and not run from them.

The girl ran away and the car sped off south on Springfield Avenue, police said.

Detectives want the men for child luring and attempted kidnapping, police said. The car is described the car as a light blue four-door sedan with a cracked windshield and a shattered passenger side window.

The men are only described as in their mid-20s, police said. At least one was drinking bottles of Budweiser.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
