The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office and Lower Township Chief Brian Marker have announced the arrest of eight people in connection to the sexual assault of a juvenile in Cape May.
Seven juveniles and one adult, 18-year old Lower Township resident Brittany Hearon, face various sexual assault charges, the prosecutor's office said.
The assault happened on March 15 in a wooded area of north Cape May known as "Rutherford Tract."
Police say the victim was sexually assaulted and physically abused during the incident. The victim was transported to Cape May Regional Medical Center.
