No Rose for Bulls vs Heat, Wade plans to play

DEERFIELD, Ill. (Associated Press) -

Injured Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose says he will not suit up against Miami on Wednesday and sounds like a player who just might miss the entire season.

Rose squashed rumors that he might make his long anticipated return from surgery on his left knee against LeBron James and the Heat with two words at the morning shootaround: "Not tonight." The comments came in the wake of a Twitter post by rapper Waka Flocka Flame, who wrote, "Word is D.Rose back."

Rose and the rapper are fans of each other, but the former MVP said he's not sure when he'll be back. He said his return is "in God's hands."

Dwyane Wade says he thinks he will be back in the lineup when the Heat try for their 28th consecutive victory Wednesday night.

Wade says he is feeling better after a sore right knee sidelined him for victories over Charlotte and Orlando. Coach Erik Spoelstra calls the All-Star guard a game-time decision, but notes he went through the morning shootaround.

Wade has appeared in 64 games this season and is second in scoring behind LeBron James, averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

The Heat are on a 27-game win streak, trailing only the 33 straight by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1971-72.
