Methacton School Dist. Superintendent Resigns

Posted: Updated:

The superintendent of the Methacton School District has resigned after a lengthy investigation conducted by the district.

The resignation of Timothy Quinn was prompted by a report this fall by FOX 29 investigative reporter Jeff Cole which raised questions about his relationship with the district's director of curriculum, Dianne Barre.

Jeff Cole's report included emails, which seemed to show a personal relationship between the two.

After FOX 29 showed the emails to the president of the school board, a law firm was hired and the investigation was launched.

FOX 29 has learned the school accepted both Quinn's and Barre's resignation during a scheduled board meeting Tuesday night.

The school board president said that both Quinn and Barre resigned before any hearings, so there were no findings of fact regarding the allegations.

The district is not expected to comment any further on the issue.
