Judge Releases Manson Murder Tapes to LAPD

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11) FOX 11 investigative producer Heidi Cuda broke a recent story about 40-year-old murder tapes that may contain clues to more killings by Charles Manson.

A federal judge in Texas just ruled that the Los Angeles Police Department should be able to get their hands on those tapes. They were made in 1969, and they feature Charles "Tex" Watson and his former attorney Bill Boyd.

The decades-old tapes were recently discovered after Boyd's death, and the LAPD has tried to obtain them for months.

In an interview with Boyd obtained by FOX 11, the lawyer said that Watson told him on those tapes that Manson committed more murders.

The LAPD is hoping the tapes might contain evidence to help solve some cold cases.
