CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A southwest suburban woman was charged with aggravated DUI after a man was killed early Saturday when he was struck by a car as he walked on the Far Northwest Side near O'Hare Airport.

Sheryl Perry, 21, 2000 block of Sutcliffe Drive in Romeoville, was charged with felony count of aggravated DUI that caused accident or death, striking pedestrian in roadway, driving under influence of alcohol, driving without insurance and transporting or carrying alcohol.

The accident happened about 1:35 a.m. in the 5800 block of North Mannheim Road.

A 21-year-old woman was driving a PT Cruiser south on Mannheim and it may have been cut off by another vehicle, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. The woman swerved her car from left to right to avoid a crash, and in doing so she struck a pedestrian and a parked Volvo, which was disabled, Mirabelli said.

The man she struck may have been the owner of the Volvo, Mirabelli said.

Marek Bajson, 49, died after the accident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

An autopsy Saturday determined Bajson died of multiple injuries from an automobile striking a pedestrian and ruled his death an accident, according to the medical examiner's office.

Perry is expected Monday in bond court.
