APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. (AP) - Pinal County authorities will decide whether to file charges against two Apache Junction high school students accused of bullying a junior high student.
The 13-year-old victim claims he was burned when the bullies used lighters to heat up erasers and touch him on the arms and neck while riding on a school bus.
The Cactus Canyon Junior High student reported the incident to his assistant principal March 7.
The boy also claims the bullies beat him up after he reported the burning incident.
Apache Junction Unified School District officials say the two students were disciplined, but won't say what the punishment was.
City police say they have handed the case over to Pinal County's juvenile prosecutor.
The Associated Press generally doesn't identify juvenile victims or juvenile suspects in alleged crimes.
