A valley dermatologist is helping Arizonans prepare for summer with free skin cancer screenings.
Dr. W. Patrick Davey of Dermatique in Scottsdale is teaming up with the Skin Cancer Foundation and the American Academy of Dermatology to help you to spot the early signs of skin cancer.
Davey performs Mohs surgery, which has a proven 98 percent cure rate for skin cancer. He is one of only six Fellowship Trained Mohs surgeons in the valley.
In order to reduce your risk of skin cancer, Davey says to seek the shade, avoid UV tanning booths, cover up with proper clothing, use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen, examine your skin often and visit your physician for a yearly professional skin exam.
