The body of a person was found in the Calumet River on the South Side Friday afternoon.
The Chicago Fire Department got a call of a body in the water at 95th Street and Ewing Avenue at 3:21 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Juan Hernandez.
The person was deceased, the body recovered, and the investigation was turned over to the Chicago Police Department, Hernandez said. He did not know if the body was that of a male or female.
