Police say a Powder Springs man hogtied his fiance's 14-year-old and 8-year-old children on the floor of their home for extended periods of time to punish them.
Sean Sterling is charged with two counts of false imprisonment and two counts of second-degree cruelty to children. According to an arrest warrant, he's accused of tying the two boys' arms and feet together, and lying them face down on the floor for long periods of time. The warrant says this happened several times between December 25, 2012 and March 7, 2013.
The warrant also says Sterling locked his 8-year-old son in a second-floor bedroom in their home and left him there so long that the child urinated on the floor several times. The warrant indicates both children are victims of past abuse.
The children's mother and Sterling's fiance, Shawnna Leigh Huntley, is charged with two counts of second-degree cruelty to children for allegedly knowing about and allowing Sterling to commit the crimes.
Sterling was released from Cobb County Jail after posting a $75,000 bond.
Huntley was being held pending $25,000 bond, according to the arrest warrant.
The children are in state custody, according to police.
