Although women continue to breakdown barriers and stereotypes in the workplace, there are still some careers few women explore.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, women make up 58 percent of the U.S. professional workforce, but only 25 percent of the computing workforce.
In an attempt to remedy that, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale and CA Technologies are creating an initiative to help girls become interested in information technology and tech-related educational opportunities and careers.
Over 100 tween girls will participate in Tech Girls Rock on Wednesday. The girls will have a full day of technology projects, career exploration panels and mentor-style workshops.
