
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a decadent chocolate stout cake.
Many people drink beer on St. Patty's, but why not cook with it too?
Pastry Chef Kristen Campbell from St. Francis restaurant shows us how to make a chocolate stout cake with cinnamon smoked chile gelato.

Chocolate Stout Cake
2 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of cocoa powder
2 eggs
3/4 cups sour cream
1 cup of Guinness
8 oz of butter
Directions: Cook butter with Guinness on medium heat on the stovetop until butter is melted. Remove the pan from heat and stir in cocoa powder. In a separate bowl whisk together eggs and sour cream. Temper in cocoa/butter/Guinness mixture into the eggs/sour cream mixture. In a separate bowl, mix together remaining dry ingredients. Stir dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix well.
Pour mixture into greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
