Pinal County Sheriff's deputies seized 905 pounds of marijuana after chasing a vehicle that failed to comply with a traffic stop in the Vekol Valley corridor.
Early Friday morning on I-8, a deputy attempted to stop a 2000 silver Chevy Tahoe that had no brake or tail lights.
The deputy pulled behind the vehicle and turned on his lights, but the driver failed to yield and instead drove across oncoming lanes of traffic into the desert.
The deputy pursued the vehicle which drove into a wash, hit an embankment, and suddenly came to a stop. The driver and passenger ran into the desert.
The deputy located 15 bundles of marijuana inside the vehicle, which had a street value of more than $450,000. The suspects were not located.
