SHOREWOOD, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
An irate patient at a clinic in southwest suburban Shorewood allegedly threatened to have his doctor killed this week.
Police Cmdr. Eric Allen said Jason M. Kantowski, 39, was a patient at Shorewood Family Medical, 1144 W. Jefferson St., where he made threats during an appointment Tuesday.
"He had a disagreement with the staff over their decisions for his treatment and became angry," Allen said, noting privacy restrictions prevent him from providing further details.
About 1 p.m. Thursday, Kantowski allegedly called four times saying his brother was on his way to kill the doctor for "vengeance."
When witnesses corroborated Kantowski's threats, Shorewood police requested help from the Channahon, Joliet and Will County sheriff's police to secure the building and search for Kantowski and his brother.
"It turned out the threat was fabricated as his brother is currently incarcerated and was not on his way to the office," Allen said.
Police sought a warrant charging Kantowski with felony disorderly conduct and arrested him around 7 p.m. Friday. Kantowski, of 106 E. Jefferson St., was booked into the Will County Jail.
