Since the shocking crime spree of ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, the department has been very upfront about its willinness to re-examine his firing -- though it's not to "appease a killer" as Chief Charlie Beck has said. The point, Beck argues, is to reassure the public that the department is fair.
FOX 11 has learned that two police commissioners will essentially look over the shoulder of the attorney and special advisor to the police chief who is re-examing the Dorner case to be sure that it's a legitimate review and that tough questions are asked.
Still, not everyone is confident that this process will be impartial and unbaised.
In fact, the president of the police commission, the five civilians appointed by the mayor to set policy for the department, told FOX 11 that she's willing to review the entire disciplinary process though nothing has been formally announced.
