For the second consecutive day, an early-morning big rig accident snarled traffic for hours on a busy freeway.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the truck crashed into a barrier on Interstate 10 in Tempe about 5:30 a.m. Thursday and caught fire.
DPS spokesman Carrick Cook says the big rig's driver -- 53-year-old Arturo Munoz -- was killed in the fiery accident that closed most of the lanes of I-10 at the Broadway Curve near the Tempe-Phoenix border for nearly seven hours.
On Wednesday morning, a big rig hauling mulch rolled on I-10 near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at the Interstate 17 junction and snarled traffic for about five hours.
