A high school student crashed a vehicle through a block wall, right into the backyard of a home. The vehicle ended up within inches of a child's swing set.
Police say the teenagers were out enjoying time off from Mountain Point High School and sped through the neighborhood going about 60 miles an hour. They lost control, smashed through a block wall, and into a backyard near 36th St and Warner.
"We had just gotten home from preschool and heard screeching tires coming up the road, and a white BMW bounced off a neighbors wall and came skidding into our backyard," said homeowner Gina Wagner.
Wagner says she was just about to send her small children out to play.
The teens were likely drinking or smoking pot before the crash, according to police. The driver was arrested for DUI.
People who live in the neighborhood say they've had enough and now they're taking action to keep the area safe.
