The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approved using the plaza for a beer garden after Supervisor Craig Brown said he'd contacted Whiskey Row bar owners. He told fellow supervisors he was surprised to find the bar owners didn't oppose it.
But The Daily Courier reports that at least several bar owners oppose allowing the beer garden, with one saying it would hurt his business.
Supervisors say they don't want to vote again on the issue.
Supervisor Tom Thurman says he relied on information from the Prescott Downtown Partnership that most downtown businesses supported the decision.
