BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - A teenager from Normal has pleaded not guilty in the shooting of another boy during what prosecutors say was a game of Russian roulette.
Larron Carroll pleaded not guilty Tuesday in McLean County Circuit Court to murder, possession of a stolen firearm and four other charges.
The 17-year-old Carroll is charged in the Jan. 21 shooting of 16-year-old Kuantree Massey of Bloomington.
Assistant State's Attorney Bill Workman said in court Tuesday the shooter put a cartridge in a revolver's chamber and pulled the trigger while pointing it at someone. After it didn't fire the shooter spun the revolver's cylinder and pointed it at Massey and fired. Massey was shot in the chest and died at a local hospital.
Defense attorney Joan A. Hill McClain calls the shooting a tragic accident.
