Police Seek Suspect After 2 Carjackings, Other Attempts In NJ

COLLINGSWOOD, N.J. -

Investigators in Camden County are trying to figure out who a mystery carjacker is and where he might be.

Police believe their guy is seen in surveillance video they obtained from an unnamed business.

They say he is responsible for two carjackings and at least two other attempts all near the Collingswood-Camden border.

One attempt took place in the parking lot of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Haddon Avenue.

Another happened at a traffic light at Whitehorse Pike and Ferry Avenue.

And, in a third incident, police say the man jumped into the back of a car and told the driver to take him to a second location, where he stole another car.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley was live in Collingswood on Friday morning with more details.

Police now say they don't believe the suspect in the carjackings is the same man already wanted for murder and two armed robberies, Zedrick Johnson.

Police say Johnson killed a gas station attendant earlier this month and then robbed another gas station on Wednesday. He was arrested in Camden on Friday after a 12-day manhunt.
