The ASPCA renamed 10 adoptable dogs and cats after this year's nominees:

  • Spike, a pit bull mix, is now Bradley Cooper as Pat in Silver Linings Playbook
  • Johnny, a dog, is now Robert De Niro as Pat Sr. in Silver Linings Playbook
  • Tori, a dog, is now Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables
  • Julie, a dog, is now Jessica Chastain as Maya in Zero Dark Thirty
  • Lady, a dog, is now Jennifer Lawrence as Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook
  • Engert, a cat, is now Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln
  • Snowy, a cat, is now Anne Hathaway as Fantine in Les Miserables
  • Clementine, a cat, is now Pi from Life of Pi
  • Bart, a cat, is now Argo
  • Belle, a cat, is now Quvenzhane Wallis as Hushpuppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild

On Monday, February 25, the usual adoption fee will cut in half if you adopt an animal whose namesake took home an Oscar.

The animals taking part in the so-called Pawcademy Awards are available at the ASPCA's Adoption Center on East 92nd Street.
