Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday offered his support for the struggling Revel hotel and casino, which revealed its plan to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March.
The move comes less than a year after the luxury resort opened its doors.
Casino management says guests won't notice anything different while they restructure to wipe away nearly a billion dollars in debt.
During a news conference Wednesday, Gov. Christie said he still has faith in Revel and in Atlantic City.
The resort cost $2.4 billion to build, but since last April it has remained at the bottom of Atlantic City's 12 casinos in terms of casino revenue.
