Stores busy with last-minute Valentine's shoppers

PHOENIX -

It's a popular day for roses. Valentine's Day isn't for the faint of heart. That's because some folks are doing a lot of last minute shopping.

Adrian Becerra is one of the shoppers we found getting something last minute, for his wife Yvonne.

"She told me not to do it but I don't always listen to her," he says.

"I've been planning this for like a week so I have a bunch of stuff in the car too," says Ben Holguin. "I'm going to go surprise her right now, take it to her work"

Roses, roses, and more roses.

"I got her two dozen roses this morning, get her two more right now," says Demetrius Smith. "She's a great woman."

"Every year is slightly different. I've been married for 2 years, last year I bought 200 balloons so this year its 4 dozen roses for now."

For now means Smith could add something new to the mix before the end of the day. Fun, creative, and these guys say it's all worth it.

"The element of surprise. It's the best to see her overwhelmed, shocked, that's what I do it for," says Holguin.
