88-Year-Old Del. Man Dies In Sunday Morning Crash

NEWARK, Del. -

An 88-year-old Delaware man died Sunday morning after state police say his car veered off the road in Newark.

According to police, the driver was identified as 88-year-old Charles Yenkevich of Newark.

Police say Yenkevich was driving a 2004 Chrysler PT cruiser westbound on Ogletown Stanton Road, west of Cheswold Boulevard, when it veered off the road, over the curb and into some bushes just before 9 a.m.

Police say Yenkevich was rushed to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say Yenkevich was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
