CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
The Chicago Police Department confirms two persons of interest are being questioned by officials in the murder of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton.
Chicago police also told FOX 32 News that Mayor Emanuel called the Pendleton family to tell them the news.
The arrests come just one day after first lady Michelle Obama and a number of other politicians attended the teen's funeral at Greater Harvest Church.
No charges have yet been filed as of 3 p.m. Sunday.
Pendleton was fatally shot in a park near her school—and one block from Obama's old Kenwood home--on January 29th. The 15-year-old was killed just one week after attending President Obama's inauguration in Washington, where she performed with her school's band.
The teen's death has since gained national attention, becoming a symbol of violence for the city of Chicago.
