WASHINGTON -

Authorities are looking for a woman who robbed two northwest banks in about 15 minutes.

Metropolitan police and the FBI said the woman walked into the PNC Bank in the 4200 block of Wisconsin Avenue about 9:13 a.m. Monday. The woman gave a teller note demanding money, received the money and left.

Officials say about 9:28 a.m. Monday, the woman entered the Bank of America in the 3400 block of Connecticut Avenue. She asked a teller for cash and said she had a gun. She got money and left.

No weapon was shown at either robbery.

The suspect in both robberies is described as a female, possibly Hispanic, with dark hair, wearing dark sunglasses, a black puffy coat, black pants, black leather gloves, black scarf around her head and a white and black polka dotted scarf around her neck and white tennis shoes. She was also described to have had a bandage on her nose or lip.

The FBI/MPD Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating these robberies and requests that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or MPD's tipline at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the police department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
