Man dies while in custody at North Lawndale police station

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A 44-year-old man died while in police custody at a police station in the North Lawndale neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
John Hubbard, 44, of the 3500 block of South Rhodes Avenue was pronounced dead at 1:25 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Officers at the station, 3340 W. Fillmore St., were processing Hubbard in an interview room when left the man alone, police said. When the officers returned, they found Hubbard dead about 1:10 p.m., police said.
Police would not say what Hubbard was charged with or where he was arrested. They also could not say how long Hubbard was left alone in the room prior to his death.
