The city of Scottsdale is giving pets the chance of survival, thanks to a generous donation.
The Ash family is donating the funds to purchase "FIDO bags," filled with lifesaving equipment specifically made for pets.
The Scottsdale Fire Department will now be able to use the bags to help save pets lives in case of an emergency.
The FIDO bags contain a veterinary oxygen mask, horse halter, eye-wash fluid, bandages restraints, splints, water bowl, welding gloves to protect from cat claws and critter bag to transport cats.
"Our interest is to obviously rescue the humans first and save their pets and property, as the number two priority, we have seen dramatic examples of pets being rescued from ravines and down in pipes," says Chief Tom Shannon, Scottsdale Fire Department.
Firefighters currently use human products to rescue pets during emergencies, but can now rely on specialized equipment to save animals' lives.
