Illinois residents pay more for cell phone service: Report

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
A new report released Thursday morning confirms what a lot of people already know: Illinois residents pay some of the highest cell phone taxes in the country.
The average state resident pays 21.7 percent in taxes for cell phone service.
That is the fifth highest rate in the country, and puts cell phone taxes on par with what people pay for cigarettes and alcohol.
