DETROIT (WJBK) -- The wife of a driver involved in the massive chain-reaction crash on I-75 in southwest Detroit says weather conditions were terrible at the time the wrecks started happening.

Lisa Czarnecki spoke with FOX 2's Taryn Asher and says her husband said he was only going 30 mph on the freeway but still couldn't manage to stop in time.

Lisa says her husband told her the conditions of some of the vehicles involved in the pileup was devastating to see, but thankfully he was not hurt. He was a witness and because his vehicle came into contact with one of the vehicles involved in a fatality he was staying on the scene to provide information to police.

This is just one of the many stories we're hearing that is coming from the accident scene. Stay with myFOXDetroit.com and FOX 2 News for continuing coverage.
