Search for suspect who sexually assaulted a girl in grocery store

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The NYPD is searching for the man who sexually abused a 9-year-old girl inside a grocery store in Queens Friday afternoon. 

Authorities say the suspect while inside the store in Elmhurst, committed the abuse while the victim was at the checkout counter around 3:15 p.m. He then fled the scene.   

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 25-30 years old, 5'8", slim build, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a black backpack with an umbrella attached.  

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
