Country music radio makes comeback in New York City

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Country music returned to New York City radio for the first time in 17 years this week. Let's all welcome the Nash FM 94.7 -- America's country station.

I was lucky enough to get private invite to the new Nash FM 94.7 studios in Manhattan. Kim Bryant, of Cumulus Media, said New York was ready for some country. She said the station follows a mainstream format.

Country music is the nation's No. 1 genre.

When Kim stepped out of the room I decided to get behind the board and give it a try.

Next stop: the Rodeo Bar and Grill. I had to tell everyone the good news. We sure met a lot of country fans.

For those of you who don't like country music I guarantee you will cross over soon and you'll be hanging with the bull at the Rodeo Bar and Grill.
