NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY) -- Hurricane Sandy washed away 30 years of memories at the Barge Restaurant in Perth Amboy. But Wednesday the popular eatery was back in business.

The barge is the first business to open along the Perth Amboy waterfront. Those who have missed going to the spot over the past three months were glad to be back.

Without the help of insurance, it cost the owner Alex Vosinas and partners around $200,000 to rebuild the restaurant.

But it's a different story at the Seabra's Armory where the road to recovery remains a long one. The restaurant has been closed since the storm. The establishment's owner is staying positive despite the hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage and thousands more being lost in sales.
