Turkey Buzzards' Mess Has Mount Holly Residents Fed Up

Posted: Updated:
MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. -

Whether you call them vultures or buzzards, people in one Burlington County community call them a disgusting nuisance. And they've tried everything to shoo the scavengers away!

Mount Holly residents say it's what these birds are leaving behind that stinks up the neighborhood.

The vultures are leaving their droppings all over the place, including in yards, on driveways and on homes and cars.

One resident says he remembers the buzzards being around when he was a child.

But everyone these days seems to agree there are more and more of them every year, and that's why they're speaking up.

One resident says he recently bought a white car because he was so tired of seeing the bird poop on his car.

The township manager tells FOX 29 officials are working with the Department of Agriculture to find a way to get the birds to relocate out of the neighborhood.

FOX 29's Stephanie Esposito ventured out to Mount Holly to see the mess first-hand.

Tuesday morning will feature another round patchy fog. It will be a mild and muggy start with temps in the mid 60s for the city and around 60 for the suburbs.  Look for more clouds than sun with highs the low 80s. There could be a few spotty showers during the day.
