An Aurora man was charged Saturday with shooting another man in the western suburb.
The victim, a 27-year-old Aurora man, was treated at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora Friday night for a gunshot wound from a shooting near the 800 block of Claim Street, Aurora police said.
The victim had surgery and was admitted to the hospital, but his condition was unknown.
Officers who tried to question a man about the shooting wound up charging him Saturday night. Jonathon H. Hernandez, 40, of the 800 block of Kane Street, Aurora, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after he attempted to flee officers, police said.
