Philadelphia police say a man who was shot twice while inside of the Koh Kong Grocery in South Philadelphia Monday night is expected to survive.
According to police, the shooting happened around 5:44 p.m. inside of the grocery store located on the 2200 block of South 7th Street.
The victim, who is 30-years-old, was shot once in the leg and once in the head, police said. The man was rushed to Jefferson Hospital.
Investigators say the shooter was wearing a royal blue hoodie when he entered the store. It appears there was a second suspect who was acting as a lookout. Police say the victim, who is a regular customer at the grocery store, was attempting to stop the robbery when he was shot.
The suspect fled the scene after the shooting without taking anything from the store.
Police are using video from private surveillance cameras in their investigation.
