NAUGATUCK, Conn. (AP) - Two 20-year-old men are facing assault charges after another man was critically injured in Naugatuck when he fell out of a fourth-floor window.

Police say 24-year-old Saloman Martinez of Stratford fell out of the window in the multifamily home and landed on a sidewalk early Wednesday morning during a brawl sparked by a dispute over a drinking game. He's listed in critical condition at Waterbury Hospital.

Officers charged Kyle Gonzalez and Matthew Chandler, both of Naugatuck, with first-degree assault and other crimes.

Police say it's not clear whether Martinez fell by accident or was pushed.

Gonzalez and Chandler were detained on bail. It's not clear if they have lawyers. A police report says Gonzalez denied involvement in Martinez's fall.
