It's Chicago's turn to impress the judges, as Idol hopefuls blew into the Windy City to take their shot at the golden ticket.  And optimism ran high for the second day of auditions.

"Chicago's been pretty amazing.  We haven't been here in a couple of years but let me tell you something I think we may have found some contenders yesterday.  We'll see what the day brings," says Idol Judge Randy Jackson.

"Very impressive, very impressive.  I have to say Chicago had and has a lot of amazing talent and some really heart-wrenching and incredible stories," says Idol Judge Mariah Carey.

It's the contestants one chance to impress the seasoned super stars... but no pressure.

"When I get on stage I get nervous," admits one contestant.

Judge Keith Urban can commensurate with the contenders having auditioned for an Idol-like show when he was a kid.

"When I was probably nine, I think I went on a show called Pot of Gold in Australia and one of the judges completely crucified me and it left a lasting impression on me, says Urban.

Last year's champ, Phil Phillips, and former Idol Judge, Jennifer Lopez, say Idol Season 12 should be another memorable year.

"I don't know what the new season is going to be like.  I'm sure it will be lots of fun.  At the end of the day, the story there is about the kids," says Lopez.

"You've got to have fun that's the biggest thing.  You've got to make the songs fun and don't be so competitive," says Phillips
