UNION CITY, Ga. (AP) - Autopsies have found that two Alabama men found dead in a car along a Georgia interstate were asphyxiated.
The Montgomery Advertiser reports (http://on.mgmadv.com/WdtUwR) that the Fulton County Medical Examiner determined that ligature strangulation was the cause of death for a woman whose body was found in the trunk of the car.
A police officer found the two men dead in the car along an Interstate 85 exit ramp in Union City on Sunday. He then opened the trunk and found the woman's body.
The men were identified as 33-year-old Quinones King and 43-year-old Rodney Cottrell, both of Montgomery. The woman was identified as 32-year-old Cheryl Colquitt-Thompson of Montgomery.
Asphyxiation involves depriving the body of oxygen, though authorities haven't said specifically how the men were killed.
Union City is southwest of Atlanta.
