Delaware rallies to beat Georgia State 86-83

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - Devon Saddler posted his third straight 20-plus-point game and hit the game-winning 3-pointer to help Delaware rally, then hold off Georgia State 86-83 Saturday for its 10th consecutive regular-season Colonial Athletic Association win.

Georgia State (6-11, 1-3) opened the game on a 17-10 run and took a 42-37 lead into the break behind 14 first-half points from Manny Atkins (20 points). But Delaware (8-8, 3-0) started the second half with a 15-9 run and Atkins missed 2 of his next three shots as the Blue Hens took their first lead, 52-51.

Javaris Threatt and Saddler hit back-to-back jumpers to push Delaware's lead to 78-68 with just 2:57 remaining.

Georgia State used free throws to tie the game at 83-all with 6 seconds left, but Saddler's 3-pointer with 2 seconds showing sealed it.

Saddler finished with 29 points and Threatt hit 10 free throws en route to 18 points.
