Nuclear plant worker accused of theft

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A supervisor at the Indian Point nuclear power plant is accused of stealing materials from the plant.

The New York State Police in Cortlandt arrested Theodore Kozelka, 33, of Windle Park in Tarrytown.  He faces felony charges for the thefts.

Police say he was systematically stealing items over a six month period from July to December last year.

Kozelka, a maintenance supervisor Employed by Entergy at Indian Point, is accused of stealing large amounts of copper cable and miscellaneous scrap metal.  Police say the metal was worth more than $50,000.

Kozelka was arraigned in the Village of Buchanan before and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of bail.  He is due back in court on January 29, 2013.

Police say that the investigation is continuing.
